Boulder Bachata Workshop @ Kakes w/ Adam & Lorena!
Join Adam & Lorena along with a great community of dancers Sept. 8th for this 3 hr, fun, engaging Bachata Dance workshop at Kakes Studio in Boulder. This workshop is for all levels of dancers, no partner needed, and will actively explore Bachata musicality, partnerwork, footwork, and give deeper cultural understanding. This workshop will specifically focus on helping students attain solid, unshakeable rhythm and timing in their dance and will then challenge them with a variety of footwork elements such as holds, syncopations, triples, and slides. We will also explore using all of these elements within a social dance and partner context.

Bachata is a genre of music and dance that originated in the Dominican Republic and has now gained tremendous popularity around the world! It is played strongly at many dance clubs and socials here in Colorado.
Husband and wife instructors, Adam and Lorena originally met dancing Bachata and now are excited to share the dance and culture with you. Adam has been dancing, teaching, researching, and filming documentary videos on Bachata for over 10 years and has been invited by dozens of festivals, studios, and universities around the world. He has done extensive work in The Dominican Republic, Bachata's birth place.
Please arrive to the workshop 10 minutes early, dress comfortably, and bring a small snack if you need it.
